About the authors
Victoria Holdsworth and Alison Spicer are friends and neighbours living in south east London. They met each other through having babies of similar ages and visiting the same playgrounds and coffee mornings! They discovered a shared interest in producing stories for children, and decided to publish their stories on the internet, in order to reach the widest possible audience.
Victoria Holdsworth (Illustrator)

My background is in journalism, including a spell as a London-based foreign correspondent for the South African media. I have two daughters, aged ten and eight. I teach art to both adults and children and paint and draw in my spare time.
Alison Spicer (Author)

I am a part-time legal adjudicator and mother to an eight year-old boy and a six year-old girl. Before having my children, I was a solicitor working for a large commercial firm in central London. In my teens I spent three and a half years living in Peru, which explains why I came to locate my story in the Peruvian Andes. I also lived in Colombia for some months and spent three years living in Spain in my twenties. My purpose in writing “Mountain Boy” is to introduce children to the magic and mysticism of Peruvian culture, to the wildlife of Peru and to help them become aware of the different lifestyle of Peruvian children.
